4 brilliant websites and resources for diamond painting inspiration

I discovered diamond painting back in 2019, when someone messaged me on Instagram asking if I'd ever considered turning my designs into diamond painting kits. It was a lot of fun, and much quicker than cross stitching.

I later released my first diamond painting kits in autumn 2022, and brought out a few smaller, more manageable kits last year. Keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of months for lots of brand new diamond painting kits…

If you’ve not heard of it before, diamond painting is the art of placing small, colourful resin rhinestones with flat bottoms (otherwise known as diamonds or drills) onto an adhesive canvas printed with a design.

Diamond painting originated sometime between the early 2000s-2010, but it gained popularity quickly, so there’s a lot of content out there to inspire you.

Here are a few of my favourite places to find really cool diamond painting inspiration.

1. Follow inspiring diamond painting creators on TikTok

Social media is a great place to find inspiration for art and crafts, as long as you don’t get stuck scrolling for so long that you never get around to the crafting part!

One of my favourite TikTok creators for diamond painting inspiration is @samvangeen, who showcases diamond painting kits and tools from different companies (including Meloca Designs). She often goes live while working on diamond painting projects, and is always answering her followers’ questions about diamond painting too.

Another favourite TikTokker of mine is @diamondpaintwithcaitlin - she makes really calming ASMR videos of diamond painting, as well as her drill storage, set-up, and finished diamond paintings.

They are both great to follow for inspiration and advice, and if the algorithm does its job, you’ll have loads more diamond painting content appear in your feed in no time.

And of course, don’t forget to follow @melocadesigns on TikTok while you’re there!

2. Find fun YouTube videos by diamond painting creators

YouTube is another great place to find diamond painting inspiration, and there are often longer videos, which are great to put on your TV in the background while you work on your own diamond painting project.

One YouTube creator I love is Riah Paige, who makes loads of diamond painting videos. I loved this video where she shows all the diamond painting kits she’d buy if she won the lottery - there’s loads of inspiration right there.

Rachel Rae is another YouTube creator who shares diamond painting unboxing videos and showcases projects she’s working on. It’s so nice to watch her carefully place drills while listening to her lovely, calming voice.

You can find a couple more YouTubers to follow in my other blog post, 5 of my favourite diamond painting content creators that I think you should follow.

3. Join diamond painting Facebook groups for inspiration and camaraderie

Another good social media platform for diamond painting inspiration is Facebook, especially Facebook groups that are dedicated to diamond painting.

They’re a really great place to connect with like-minded people, see what diamond painting projects they’re working on, ask for or give advice and recommendations.

I really rate the Everything Diamond Painting group, and another Facebook Group I like is Diamond Painting Group – The Original - both have tens of thousands of members, so they’re packed with diamond painting inspiration.

4. Read inspiring diamond painting blog posts

Finally, reading blog posts (like this one!) are a great way to find diamond painting inspiration, as well as getting tips, tricks and insider knowledge.

Diamond Art Club has a great blog about diamond painting, where they share round-ups of great diamond painting kits, ideas for using up leftover drills, storage tips, and more, including this really cool vision board blog post.

And of course, I have a bunch of diamond painting posts on the Meloca Designs blog too - it’s not all about cross stitching.

Here are a few of my favourite diamond painting blog posts to read after this one:

If I’ve got you feeling really inspired to do some diamond painting, have a look at my colourful and fun diamond painting kits based on the most popular Meloca Designs cross stitch kits.
